Saint Pio

1887-1968 Feast Day – September 23rd
Padre Pio, born on May 25, 1887 in Pietrelcina, Italy, was ordained a priest in 1910. On September 20, 1918, he received the five wounds of Our Lord’s Passion, the first stigmatized priest in the history of the Church. His life was marked by prayer, austerity, devotion to the Eucharist and the Blessed Mother. Able to look into the very soul of a penitent, many came to his confessional.
Padre Pio’s motto was Pray, Hope and Don’t Worry.
